Fourth week at home

Cécile is now in her fourth week at home. Yesterday she had her third day in hospital for chemo and today and tomorrow is having the chemo injections at home. She is suffering from a lot of nausea despite anti emetics and there are some moments when it's tough for her. But she makes the most of the times when she's feeling good! She has had several visits from her friends who are now starting to return home after their holidays. It does her a lot of good to see them - lots of giggling and girlie talk!

She's also been encouraged to go out on her bicycle and today we made the most of a few rays of sunshine to do a couple of kilometres through the park to the shop.

Despite the nausea, she wanted to make some cupcakes - so that was the afternoon activity today. And Cécile managed to eat some too!

Next week there is no chemo - but unfortunately that doesn't mean no visits to hospital. As the hemoglobine is on its way down again (caused by the treatment), Cécile will probably need another transfusion next week. It is also the week when her blood count will be very low before it starts to build up again to be ready for the next round of chemo.
