RI 12

Cécile had her last intravenous chemo injection yesterday! She's on her twelfth and final re-induction. Just one week of corticosteroids left!
Everything is going well - apart from the fact that she gets very tired very quickly and is finding it difficult to build up muscle power and stamina for sport. She's enjoying doing ballet again even though she does suffer quite a lot with pain in her knees. The orthopedist has assured us that this pain will gradually subside once she's no longer taking any cortisone treatment.
So - she continues with the two different types of oral chemo for another twelve - fourteen months and has to have three more lumbar punctures: one at the end of the month, one in May and the last one in September. That will make a total of eighteen since the beginning of the treatment.
For now she's focusing on the next holidays which will start in just over a week's time. We'll take some photos when we're out and about!

La dernière chimio en intra-veineuse a eu lieu hier! Cécile a commencé sa douzième et dernière ré-induction. Plus qu'une semaine de corticoïdes!
Cécile va bien mais fatigue toujours très vite et a un peu de mal à retrouver des muscles et de la résistance lors des séances de sport mais elle persévère. Elle prend plaisir à suivre ses cours de danse classique même si elle souffre de douleurs au niveau des genoux. L'orthopédiste nous dit que les douleurs vont s'estomper avec l'arrêt des corticoïdes.
La suite: elle continue à prendre deux chimios par voie orale pendant douze - quatorze mois et doit subir encore trois ponctions lombaires - fin février, mai et août - pour faire un total de 18 depuis le début du traitement.
Pour l'instant elle attend les prochaines vacances qui arrivent dans une semaine pour se reposer et faire autre chose que travailler! On essaiera de prendre quelques photos. A suivre ...

Here are a couple of photos which show that Cécile has been able to make the most of her holidays - a week spent in Annecy with her brothers (and parents!) and then a quick trip under the channel to do some shopping / sightseeing in London!
